With all of these race vehicles, we need a large fleet of support vehicles.
The Nitro car and the rally car need a hauler, and we decided on a 48' Stacker hauler with a hydraulic liftgate, 45' x 24' awning, and an air conditioned lounge. Our team spent close to 6 months renovating the hauler, and we couldn't be happier with the final result.
For pulling the Nitro Car up to the starting grid in style, and carrying the tools and 48v battery pack, we opted for what we think is the coolest tow vehicle we could find. Our AM General HMMMV (Hummer H1) can carry 2500lbs of tools, fire suppression equipment, and batteries, without squatting down, while still having enough room for 6 mechanics and support staff. And, it looks really cool while doing it!
Many race teams use pit bikes to get around on race day, but we couldn't imagine our crew chief driving back to Jennings on a scooter or moped, so we went with a Honda VT1300 Sabre.
When racing at the Superboat World Finals in Key West, the traffic in and out of Race Village is atrocious. Rather than staying at a hotel, and then fighting hours of traffic just to get to the boat, we opted for a Prevost Luxury Coach to be parked in our pit stall.
Whether it's a day of racing the shifter karts at Homestead or Palm Beach International, where temperatures can exceed 100F, or a week of Boat racing in Key West, this bus offers an air conditioned oasis. The more time we spend racing around the US, the easier it was for us to justify adding the Prevost to the fleet. (Side note** We bought it 2nd hand from a well known NASCAR Cup Series driver. Very cool!!)
