Often referred to as ‘Traditional Shutters’, aluminum Colonial shutters are the most aesthetically pleasing hurricane protection on the market today. Unlike wooden versions, aluminum colonial shutters last for decades. We’ve seen wooden colonials being replaced after as little as 3 years, due to twisting, warping and wood rot. By building ours from powder coated aluminum, we are able to achieve the same traditional appearance, without the frequent maintenance (and replacement) needed with wood. We have installations in the islands, which are going on 20 years old, which still look as good as the day they were installed.
Similar in design to our side-hinged Colonial Shutters, Bahama Shutters offer a traditional, Caribbean appearance, beautifying your home throughout the year. At the first sign of an impending storm, in a short period of time, they are ready to protect your home from anything Mother Nature may throw at it. Hinged at the top, the blades are angled in such a way as to provide shade for the home, keeping it cool throughout the year, while also maximizing your view when in the open position. Simply dropping the panel to vertical, and anchoring them to the wall, the Bahama Shutters are now ready to face the storm.
