These are the undisputed kings of speed on water. Anyone can make a small, lightweight boat go fast, by putting a big engine in it. That works great on a flat lake, or a shallow bay with no waves. However, if you want to go out and play in the ocean, you need a boat that can take 4' or 5' of chop. In rough water, there is a saying: "Length is Strength!"
The problem is, when you build a boat long enough to take the rough water, additional weight is unavoidable. Even large twin turbocharged V-8's, or supercharged Big Blocks, can only make so much horsepower before they become unreliable. To power a 48' to 55' ocean racer, you need upwards of 4000 HP, and that just cannot be had from a reciprocating engine, and expect it to run for any length of time.
That's where the good folks at Lycoming come in. The Lycoming T-53-703 gained notoriety by powering the Cobra Attack Helicopter. Lightweight, incredible amounts of torque, and extremely reliable. By mounting a pair of these turbines into ocean-class catamarans, we've been able to exceed 200 MPH, and still have a reasonably reliable package.
Thanks to research paid for by the US military, the fuel system on these turbines is highly adaptable, allowing the boat to run on Jet A-1, Kerosene, Stove Oil, Biodiesel, or even a mixture of Diesel and gasoline.
Depending upon race conditions and location, we can run either an enclosed cockpit, 48' MTI, or an open cockpit 55' MTI. Randy Scism of Marine Technology Inc (MTI) has been building the highest quality, strongest, fastest race boats for 3 decades. They've become the gold standard for Ocean class catamarans, and we wouldn't want to own anything else.
Coming in after winning the Sunday Race at the SBI World Finals in Key West.

Here's a 2 minute video showing our enclosed cockpit race boat at the SBI World Finals in Key West. We went on to win the Friday and Sunday races, outperforming Sheikh Hassan al-Thani of Qatar.
This is a 4 minute video giving a brief walk around of our new turbine powered ocean racer. She's a 55' MTI with twin Lycoming T-53-703 turbines, churning out 3700 HP.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
